Even though NetPatrol is the most convenient network monitor toolkit yet created, using it does require some preparation. In order to plan a successful monitoring, you need to do this first:

STEP 1 - Installing DigitalWeb NetPatrol Server

1) Download netpatrol.zip, unzip files to some folder.

2) Run setup.exe, select NetPatrol Server and click next.. The Server only needs to be installed on the computer that you will be monitoring from.

3) Start it up by selecting DigitalWeb NetPatrol > DigitalWeb NetPatrol Server in the Start Menu.


STEP 2 - Installing DigitalWeb NetPatrol Client


1) Run setup.exe, select NetPatrol Client and click Next. Install Client on the PC that needs to be monitored and run.

2) After execute NetPatrol Client (winclient.exe), you must enter the IP of the computer when the Server is installed and running.


Note: You can install both the Server and Client on the same computer if you need to monitor the local PC.
