How to install NetPatrol ?

1) IP settings * Note that this settings are note required.
The easiest way to use netpatrol is to configure the MAIN MACHINE ( the machine that you will use to monitor other machines) with a STATIC IP.
You can do this by configuring the Network Settings in Control Panel.
Open NetWork Settings choose "Internet Protocol (TCP/IP)" Properties. Disable the DHCP ( used to obtain an IP address automatically) and choose some IP. Normaly 192.168.0.1 or 10.0.0.1.
This settings are valid for a private network.

If you will want to use the Internet to monitor another computers, you need a VALID IP from Internet. xDSL, Dial-Up connections don't have a VALID IP in the network.

Attention: If you never changed this settings don't try. To change this you need network configuration skills.

2) Download netpatrol.zip from DigitalWeb and Unzip.
Inside you get 3 files. NetPatrol Server.exe, NetPatrol Client.exe and setup.exe.

3) Run Setup.exe
Select "NetPatrol Server" in the computer that you will be monitoring from. Just install this one time.
Select "NetPatrol Client" in all the computers that needs to be monitored.

4) Install NetPatrol Server...
Run NetPatrol Server. Then the server will prompt you to configure the DEFAULT configuration for all clients. After this, you will see this dialog:

5) Install NetPatrol Client...
NetPatrol Client will prompt you to enter NetPatrol Server IP.
(this is the IP that you have set in the MAIN MACHINE, your STATIC IP or your VALID INTERNET IP)

If you don't know this IP, go to the computer where the server is installed and go to PROMPT OF MS-DOS. Then type ipconfig.exe. You will see some like this:
